Welcome to Sam Nujoma Campus

Introduction

The Sam Nujoma Campus, a thriving residential campus, is located on a 100 ha site to the north of Henties Bay, on dunes overlooking the ocean and the Omaruru Riverbed. Henties Bay is a coastal town in the Erongo Region, in western Namibia. It is located 70 km north of Swakopmund and is an important holiday destination. The seal colony of Cape Cross is 70 kilometers to the north of the town.

The Campus houses both the Sam Nujoma Marine and Coastal Resources Research Centre (SANUMARC) and the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (DFAS). The Sam Nujoma Marine and Coastal Resources Research Centre (SANUMARC) is a fully-fledged Research Centre of the 糖心vlog官网, with the mandate to promote research and development activities in the field of Marine Science and Coastal Resources. The Campus offers students a tranquil learning environment close to the ocean.

Facilities & Stats

The Sam Nujoma Campus has three hostel blocks, with single and double rooms. There are three state-of-the-art Lecture Halls. The Campus Library is located between the lecture halls, with an open seating space surrounded by green grass. It is overlooking the ocean and provides a tranquil studying atmosphere. The library also has computers for students to do research and tasks.

The staff kiosk is currently utilised by staff or students gathering occasionally. The service provider provides breakfast on campus and makes use of one of the students’ common rooms in the hostel.

The campus provides full ICT services with computers, photocopying, and printing machines to support students. Conference facilities, with portable screens and projectors, are available in the boardroom.

The campus has four state-of-the-art laboratories, namely the Mari-culture lab, Bio-Chemistry lab, Micro Biology lab, and a Wet lab. They are further provided with a greenhouse for plant research.
